As an educator in the field of Christian faith, I spend a good portion of my time thinking, reading, discussing issues related to faith, the Bible, and the Christian church.  So that’s what I write about.

I hereby swear to do my best to hear all sides, listen well, and be gracious in all I write.  If what I write fails to encourage, then it probably wasn’t worth writing.

My work, primarily, is done in this church, where I oversee this school.  It’s a good church and a good school.

  1. Okay you work in at a church and a school but I’m curious what qualifies you to educate others about the Christian faith? What did you major in? Did you identify with any particular denomination?

    1. Thanks for the question, Kody. I have a BA in Christian ministries from Messiah College and an MDiv from Gordon-Conwell. I don’t know that those degrees qualify me to be an educator. I certainly don’t expect – nor would I want – anyone to take everything I have to say wholesale. I expect my thoughts to be approached critically the same way I would any other teacher or author.

For what it’s worth, I grew up in a fairly conservative Baptist tradition. Theologically and practically, I’m probably still in the Baptist camp. I kick against just about anything Reformed. And I’m at least open to certain streams of charismatic expression.
